PhD (Eiré), BSc Hons (Z’bwe), BSc Gen (Z’bwe)

Current Position

I am a lecturer within  Massey University‘s Computer Science and Information Technology Cluster in the School of Engineering and Advanced Technology (SEAT) in Palmerston North, New Zealand. I joined Massey University in June 2009. My SEAT online biodata is viewable here

Background

I am a graduate of the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT)’s Faculty of Applied Sciences in Kevin Street, Dublin, Ireland, where I graduated in 2004 with the PhD degree, which was supervised by Dr Bing Wu and Professor Jane Grimson. My PhD thesis is entitled “A generic approach to supporting the management of computerised clinical guidelines and protocols” and is available online from Arrow@DIT. Before joining the DIT, I graduated from the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) in 1997 with the BSc Honours degree in Computer Science and in 1992 with the BSc General degree in Computer Science and Mathematics.

From 2005 to 2008, I worked as the Arnold F. Graves Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the DIT’s School of Computing working with Dr Bing Wu’s K-Camp Group.

During the period 1993-1998, I worked for the Ministry of Higher Education in Computer Studies at Bulawayo Polytechnic and Gweru Technical College. From 1998-1999, just before joining the DIT, I had worked for the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) within the technical section for Computer Science.

A selected list of my publications is available here.

FootPrints

Finally, I have recently managed to create a new home for FootPrints, my personal web site! Articles that are posted here will be in either English or Shona/ChiVanhu (Zimbabwean), which is my mother tongue! However, since I work in English everyday all year round, naturally and unfortunately, the balance will be in favour of English!

This personal website will have contents that cover just about anything that I deem necessary to cover without any restrictions. I may also post articles by my friends every now and then, with their permision, of course!
